STATE Administration Council member Daw Aye Nu Sein inspected the TMP frozen and cold storage factory in Dwarawady Myothit of Thandwe Township of Rakhine State in order to ensure job opportunities for local people and export volumes, together with Rakhine State Chief Minister Dr Aung Kyaw Min, Social Affairs Minister U Aung Myo, Advocate General U Hla Thein and other officials yesterday. First, the factory manager reported on the operation of the cold storage factory, numbers of employees, finished-product production rate per day, export volume, livestock breeding, and plans to promote annual finished-product production rate based on fresh raw materials.
Then, SAC member Daw Aye Nu Sein and party inspected the fish, prawn and crab production processes of the factory.
In Rakhine State, it is prohibited to capture crabs weighing below 80 grammes, and the companies do not buy crabs that are not in conformity with the standards of the Fisheries Department. The crab farms are primarily found in Thandwe, Sittway and Kyaukpyu districts and the soft-shell crabs, fish and prawns from these regions are delivered to China, Japan, China Taipei (Taiwan) and European Union Countries. In the evening, SAC member Daw Aye Nu Sein and party visited the Paowunmya Padamya Garden in Ngapali of Thandwe Township to check tourism activities. — MNA
