Thabaung, 4 February

           

A rural concrete road built with the budget funded by the Department of Rural Development under its Community-Centered Project was opened to pubic in Asugyi Village, Thabaung Township in Ayeyawady Region this morning.

           

On behalf of local people, a village-tract administrator spoke words of thanks following an entertainment programme by the students. Next, an official from the DRD explained the purpose of the scheme, the department’s goals and undertakings. The in-charge of the Community-Centered Project elaborated on construction of the rural road. Afterwards, concerned officials formally opened the rural concrete road by cutting a ceremonial ribbon.

           

The rural road was built with Ks. 7.2 million contributed by the Community-Centered Project and local people. “I would like to express many thanks to local authorities for construction of the road that can contribute to convenience for the students,” said a teacher.—Aung Min
