Gyobingauk Township experienced two fire incidents last year, said U Ye Lin Aung, commander of the township fire brigade during an opening ceremony of a refresher course for auxiliary firefighters this morning.

Two fires have been reported in Zeetaw Village and Ywathit Village in 2018, causing an estimated Ks. 155,000 in property damage, he added. Only when firemen are ready to operate fire extinguishers, firefighting equipment and fire engines, there will be less damage and property if fire breaks out in the area, said U Zaw Htet, the staff officer from the Department of Fire Services.

           

A total of 50 auxiliary firefighters will be given practical and theoretical training course on firefighting, search and rescue operation by five instructors commencing 4 February.—Zeyar Tun
