No immediate reports of damages or casualties were available following a moderate earthquake which was recorded last night, according to Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (Nay Pyi Taw Council Office).

 

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 on the Richter scale and with its epicenter inside Myanmar jolted about 18 southwest of Mingin, Kalay District in Sagaing Region. It was recorded at about 9:45 pm on May 1 at latitude of 22.76°N, and longitude of 94.24°E, with a depth of 112 kilometers and about 40 miles east-northeast of Haka seismological observatory.—Kyaw Thu Win
