Sponsored by Mon State Government, the 39th Cula Title conferring ceremony was held in conjunction with the provision-offering at the Pariyatti Dhammabeikman in Hline ward, Mawlamyine yesterday.
Chief Minister Dr Aye Zan of Mon State Government, Commander of Southeast Command Maj-Gen Myo Moe Aung, Chief Justice of the State Hluttaw U Khin Maung Gyi and others presented offertories to members of the Sangha led by Presiding Sayadaw Aggamaha Pandita Bhaddanta Sumana of Nathmaw Monastery, before conferring certificates and awards to monks and nuns who passed Dhammacariya and Pathamapyan examinations held at the Mawlamyine exam centre.
At the ceremony, provisions were officered to 789 monks and nuns by the chief minister and party .—District IPRD
