The Mandalay Mayor’s Cup Horticultural competition will be held at Kandawgyi Garden in Mandalay from 10 to 16 February, according to a source from the parks and playgrounds division under the Mandalay City Development Committee.
The contest will be the 17th time of its kind in Mandalay. The event will feature different types of inflorescence ranging from rose to orchid in conjunction with some booths displaying decoration of flowers and fruits. There will also be a place where people can take photo. The first prize winners will be awarded Ks. 200,000 while the second prize winners will receive Ks. 150,000 and the third prize winners will earn Ks. 100,000.
Consolation prize winners will be awarded Ks. 30,000 each and eight booths representing governmental organizations and six booths from private companies totaling 16 booths will exhibit a wide range of fruits and flowers. The visitors will be entertained with song and dance by modern music bands at 7 p.m. daily during the show.—Than Zaw Min (IPRD)
