An event to provide cash assistance to people whose homes became relocated due to Irrawaddy riverbank erosion was held at the meeting room of the Township General Administration Department in Saling Township, Magway Region at about 2:00 pm on 14 June. 

At the event, officials from the Township General Administration Department and the Township Disaster Management Department provided Ks. 2100 per person and Ks. 100000 per household to 138 victims of riverbank erosion for purchasing rice and building materials in the Township.

Irrawaddy riverbank erosion forced 138 family members of 27 households from five villages in the Township to relocate to safer places on 7 June this year.—Maung Lwin(IPRD)
