A total of 50000 fish fingerlings were released into Myakanthar Lake in Loilem Township, Shan State on 13 July.
Officials released a total of 50000 fish fingerlings including 25000 rohu (Ngamitchin) and 25000 hamilton’s carp (Shwewar ngakyin) were released to further restore the biodiversity of the lake in Loilem Township.
Colonel Than Tun Aung, Commander of Loilem cantonment area and members, Chairman of the District Administration Council U Kan Saw Hlaing and members, chairman of the Township Administration Council U Thein Htut and members, staff officer of the state Fisheries Department U Thaw Zin Tun and staff officer of the District Fisheries Department U Than Myint attended the event and jointly released fish fingerlings into the lake.
To further preserve the biodiversity of Myakanthar Lake, 120000 fish fingerlings were released into natural water in Loilem Township this year, according to staff officer of the District Fisheries Department U Than Myint. —Loilem Moe
