With the aim of ensuring swift flow of commodity and saving time and money, the Township Department of Rural Development is implementing rural development projects in Didokkan Village in Minhla Township, Magway Region.

Officials from the Township Department of Rural Development and chairman of the Township Administration Council U Than Tun Aung inspected the progress of construction works of a rural road and bridge in the village this morning.

During the inspection tour, officials led by U Than Tun Aung met with members of rural development project committee and gave necessary instructions. The gravel type road measuring two miles and four furlongs long, 12 ft. wide and one ft. and nine inches thick is being constructed with Ks. 117.5 million of DRD’s allocated funds in 2022-2023 FY.

In addition, the bridge measuring 100 ft. in length, 30 ft. in width and three ft. in thickness is being constructed with Ks. 22.5 million allotted by regional government in 2022-2023 FY.

Once completed, it will benefit 1200 acres of farmland of 1563 local people from 350 families in the village, helping them transport rural products to the markets in a timely manner.— U Soe Moe Kyaw
