Mandalay 8 February
A four-lane bridge will be constructed near Goteik viaduct, according to Oriental Highway Company.
The way to Naungcho Goteik viaduct is very dangerous with common traffic congestion and accidents. Therefore, arrangements are being made to construct a four-lane bridge, and toward this end 90 percent of land compensation was completed.
“On completion of land compensation, the project will be implemented. Yet it is not sure when the project will be started”, said in-charge of the Oriental Highway Company. Land compensation remains to be paid to 26 owners out of 300.
The new facility will be 887 meters long cable steel bridge. The construction will take three and a half years to be completed.
Since the new facility is situated on the Mandalay-Lashio-Muse Union Road, it is central to the commodity flow between Myanmar and China. Therefore, the emergence of the new facility will bring about public safety and convenience and swift flow of commodity.
