With the aim of promoting fishery industry and preventing from scarcity of fish resources, the Fisheries Department is undertaking to release fingerlings into lakes, paddy fields, creeks and rivers across the country.

 

On 25 October morning, Zeyathiri Township Fisheries Department held a ceremony to release fingerlings into Paunglaung River near Kyiduang Village in Zeyathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory. 

 

Director of Nay Pyi Taw Fisheries Department Daw Nyo Nyo Aye, Deputy Director U Zaw Lin Myint, staff officer of Otarathiri Township Fisheries Department  U Tun New, officials and locals attended the event and jointly released a total of 500000 fingerlings including 250000 ngamyitchin and 250000 Thai ngakhunma into the river.—Tun Lin(Zeyamye)
