With the aim of distributing enough drinking water in Banyo village, Mrauk-U Township, Township Department of Rural Development is undertaking digging an earthen lake in the village during 2022-2023 FY.

Officials from the department inspected the completion of the lake on November 14 and asked the responsible people from the company for the timely completion, meeting the set standard.

Digging the earthen lake which is 100 ft in length, 100 ft in width and six ft in depth and making a fence are being conducted with K 11.5 million funded by Union Budget. The projects are being conducted starting from May 25 and it has been completed by 50 percent up to November 14. Upon completion, 1321 people from 286 households will be available purified drinking water, according to an official from the department.
