Japan's health ministry confirmed 1,195 new cases of the coronavirus in Tokyo on Wednesday.

The figure is down 663 from a week ago.

Officials also reported 12 deaths in the capital.

Nationwide, 18,654 new infections and 114 deaths were confirmed on the day.
