The Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Republic of Guinea-Bissau desirous of estab­lishing friendly ties and cooper­ation guided by the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and the norms of International Law in accord­ance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations have established dip­lomatic relations at the level of Ambassadors with effect from 6 March 2023.

 

The Joint Communiqué on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations was signed by U Tin Maung Swe, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myan­mar to the People’s Republic of China and Mr António Serifo Em­baló, Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau to the People’s Republic of China, on 6 March 2023 at the Embassy of the Re­public of the Union of Myanmar in Beijing.

 

The Republic of Guinea-Bis­sau is the 126th country with which Myanmar has established diplo­matic relations. — MNA
