DPM MoTC Union Minister joins 23rd International Environmental Forum “Baltic Sea Day” online

Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San virtually joined the 23rd International Environmental Forum “Baltic Sea Day” held yesterday in St Petersburg at the invitation of the St Petersburg government of the Russian Federation. During the opening ceremony, he discussed the role of oceans for people, the need to draft harmonious plans for the users of oceans, environmental conservations, cooperation to implement the effective international convention for the prevention of water pollution and preventive projects of Myanmar for the negative impacts of oil leaks on marine ecosystem and human society and strategic plans to create sustainable and prosperous community fighting against climate change-related natural disasters.

 

The Russian Federation holds the International Environmental Forum annually and the 23rd Forum was held aiming to find out ways to solve marine-related issues. The forum was attended by over 1,000 participants from related ministries of Russia including experts, scientists and experts from China, Viet Nam and Belarus. — MNA/KTZH
