Families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) paid respects to retired senior military officers who attended the Parade of the 78th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day on 27 March 2023 at the hall of Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

The ceremony was attended by 19 senior military officers and seven wives. Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) and their wives led by Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla paid respects to those retired senior military officers and wives.

 

 On the occasion, the Senior General spoke words of respect, saying that they all were successors to the duties in line with the traditions of the Tatmadaw, and the retired senior military officers were their parents and teachers. Hence, the Senior General said that they all pay respects to the retired senior military officers on the same occasion annually. The Senior General expressed his pride in the attendance of those retired senior military officers at the Armed Forces Day parade yearly. Paying respects to the seniors by juniors is a fine tradition of the Tatmadaw.

 

The Senior General and wife and senior military officers and their wives, on behalf of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), paid respects to the retired senior military officers in line with the Myanmar traditions.

 

 Then, the Senior General and wife, the Vice-Senior General and wife and senior military officers respectfully presented gifts to the retired senior military officers.

 

 On behalf of the retired senior military officers, General Thein Sein and Lt-Gen Tun Kyi gave words of advice. The Senior General and senior military officers had documentary photos taken together with the retired senior military officers and wives.
