A township administrator and departmental personnel provided cash assistance to family members of nine deceased people at the city hall of Mannaung Township, Rakhine State this morning. A ship near Latphat Kyung lighthouse sank on 11 February, leaving nine people dead.

The officials met family members of nine deceased people and attended to the needs of the family members whereas an official from the Department of Disaster Management provided K 2.7 million to the family members through the township administrator.

So far nine dead bodies out of 18 people going missing were retrieved, and K 300,000 each was provided to the family members, according to the Information and Public Relations Department.
