A house was completely destroyed after a lit mosquito coil tipped over on the floor of U Kyaw Win’s Thanlwinphyu hostel in Wanzin Ward in Meiktila Township, Mandalay Region and spread to household gas cylinder and sparked a fire at about 7:45 pm on 23 April.

Firemen from the District Fire Services Department rushed to the incident scene to put out the fire in collaboration with auxiliary fire fighters and villagers using eight fire engines and three water tankers. The blaze was completely extinguished at about 8:10 am.

But no casualties were reported in the fire. U Kyaw Soe was charged for his negligence in No.2 Myoma Police Station.—Thein Myint Kyaw(Meiktila)
