Many houses and three monasteries were damaged due to heavy rains and strong winds on 21 April in Lewe Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory.

Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture U Aye Tun, vice chairman of Young Men's Buddhist Association (YMBA) Dr. Aung Min Thu Kyaw and officials gave an inspection tour on April 23 to the monasteries which was hit by tornado on April 21 in Tada-U Village and Aung Myin Gon Village in Lewe Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory and paid homage to the Monks in the monasteries. Afterwards, officials donated cash aid, rice and cooking oil, food and utensils to the monasteries.—MNA
