Kanbalu, 11 June

With the aim of keeping the environment green and maintaining soil and temperature, a collective tree-planting ceremony took place in the compound of 100-bedded hospital in the town of Kanbalu, Sagaing Region yesterday morning.

First, secretary of the Township Administration Council Police Lt-Col Thaung Htike, Chairman of the Township Administration Council U Bone Htet Naing Myint and staff officer of the Township Forest Department handed over tree saplings to relevant officials.

A total of 500 departmental officials and staff and locals participated in the event and jointly grew 500 saplings in the compound of the hospital in the town.—Aung Win Nyein(Kanbalu)
