Officials from the District Department of Rural Development inspected the construction works of rural road and slab culvert on the road in Letpakan Village in Saling Township of Magway Region this morning. 

An earthen road measuring seven furlong long, 12 ft. wide and nine inches high and a slab culvert measuring 20 ft. long, 18 ft. wide and six ft. high on the road have been constructed since the third week of June this year by a tender winning Company with Ks. 51.3 million of DRD’s allocated funds in this fiscal year and all the projects have been completed by 20 percent so far.

During the inspection tour, personnel led by staff officer of the District DRD met with members of the construction Company and stressed the importance of quality construction and maintenance. Once completed, it will benefit 327 acers of farmland of local people from 117 households and helping them transport rural products to the markets in a timely manner.—Than Than Soe(DRD)
