Hailstones that fell with rain damaged the roofs of about 300 homes in Maran village in Mogaung Township, Kachin State, on the evening of 17 February, reported village administrator U Naw Lard.
The roofs of some 300 homes in the village, which is made up of 605 houses, were damaged.
“The rain came suddenly, at about 4 pm. Later, hailstones also came down. Some of the hailstones were rather big. They were over two inches thick. The hail continued for nearly 15 minutes, and caused damage to the roofs. We are compiling a detailed list of the damage,” said U Naw Lard.
