With the aim of boosting the income of rural people and their socio-economic status, loans for implementation of emerald green projects were disbursed to farmers at the Monastery Nathmu Village, Mawlamyinegyun Township, Ayeyarwady Region on July 25. The disbursement of loan is the seventh of its kind in the village.

At the event, an official from the Township Department of Rural Development gave an opening speech and clarified the purposes of the projects. Next, chairman of the village emerald green project committee U Zaw Thura Win discussed matters pertaining to the emerald green projects undertaking in the village.

Altogether 145 people – 62 people in agriculture business, three in livestock breeding business, 40 in fishing business, five in trading business and 35 in vocational business received Ks. 33.7 million worth of loans.—Tay Zar Lin
