A ceremony to present land compensation to farmers was held at the meeting room of the General Administration Department in Minbu, Magway Region this morning. 

 

At the ceremony, the regional chief minister Dr. Aung Moe Nyo gave an opening speech and the project engineer explained matters relating to the land compensation. Next, the regional chief minister, and regional lawmakers U Kyaw Swan Yee and U Kyaw Ngwe gave Ks. 1397.8443 million of compensation for 455.370 acres of farmlands belonging to 339 farmers whose lands were confiscated when construction of Kyangin-Pakkoku Railway Road began in 2006.   

 

The deputy commissioner then presented Ks. 381.3147 million for 118.83 acres of farmlands owned by 97 farmers from two village-tracts whose farmlands were confiscated when the Minbu-An-Sittway Railroad was built. On behalf of the farmers, U Tun Aye expressed his delight for accepting land compensation.

 

The ceremony was also attended by the township administrator, local authorities, railway officials and village administrators.
