Deputy Minister for Industry U Yin Maung Nyunt said that digital technology can create opportunities for MSMEs to expand their businesses and improve market capabilities.

He highlighted this at the opening of the capacity development forum to upgrade the digital skills of Lancang-Mekong MSMEs held in Nay Pyi Taw on 27 and 28 July.

The deputy minister pointed out that MSMEs are currently the main driver of global economic development and are an important tool for expanding employment and improving quality of life. The development of MSMEs in the Lancang-Mekong region plays an important role in maintaining the stability of the regional industry and supply chain, maintaining trade facilitation and market interconnection, building a consistent market in the region, and improving the income and living standards of people in various countries.

He also said that Myanmar pays a lot of attention to MSMEs and provides enough raw materials for agriculture and livestock farms, and increases the income of the people by upgrading the value of products through brokering.

Mr Ouyang Daobing, a counselor of the Chinese Embassy to Myanmar, said that this forum will provide knowledge sharing for MSMEs at the right time. — TWA/KZL
