Torrential downpours hit Mon State and the water level of Belin River has increased. Then, water entered into the low-lying areas in Donewun village starting from the evening of 1 August.

 

In the morning of 2 August, the water level of Belin River has reached 1047 centimeters and its danger mark is 1022 centimeters. Hence, the water level of the river has exceeded its danger mark and water entered into the low-lying areas in the village.

 

The social organizations are conducting public education on flood risk, emergency evacuation and precaution and are monitoring the increase of water level of the river.

 

The increase of water level of the river causes floods in the low-lying areas but no casualties were reported in the incident.
