Hpa-an, 17 February

As many as 130 patients living with congenital cleft lips, palate and burns are undergoing free surgery at Hpa-an People’s Hospital from 17 to 29 February.

The free surgery was carried out jointly by Kayin State Government and Free Medical Treatmout World Chefs Without Borders Myanmar.

German-Myanmar Medical Association led by Dr.Heinz Schoenich from Germany, Inter Plast and Medical Staffs from the hospital gave free medical treatment covering 110 patients from Kayin State, 18 from Bago Region and 2 from Mon State.

Daw San San Moe, a resident of Mawlamyine, said that she was here to have her child with cleft lips operated as she heard about the free medical treatment.

Twenty-six social organizations from Hpa-an are providing vehicles and meals in the process of operations, according to U Soe San Min from Hpa-an Marga Social Organization. –Min Thu (Hpa-an)
