A Myanmar delegation led by Dr Kan Zaw, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, U Maung Maung Ohn, Union Minister for Information, and U Aung Naing Oo, Union Minister for Com­merce, departed from Yangon for the People’s Republic of Chi­na yesterday to participate in the 7th China-South Asia Expo Trade Fair, mark the inaugura­tion of the 27th China (Kunming) Export/Import Expo, engage in the 2023 Greater Mekong Sub-Regional Economic Corri­dor Forum, and partake in other associated events.

 

Hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC and the People’s Government of Yun­nan Province, the ceremony is scheduled to take place in Kunming from 16 to 20 August.

 

To be held under the theme of “Solidarity Coordination & Coordination for Common De­velopment”, the 7th China-South Asia Expo will feature 15 mul­ti-sector galleries and host over 10 forums concurrently. Among these are the 4th China-South Asia Cooperation Forum, the 2023 GMS Economic Corridor Governors Forum, the 16th China-Southeast Asia Busi­ness Forum, the 4th Forum on China-South Asia Technology Transfer and Collaborative In­novation, the 11th China-South Asia & Southeast Asia Arts Week, the 4th Lancang-Mekong Audiovisual Week, and the Chi­na-South Asia Expo digital plat­form, which will be presented online simultaneously.

 

This event serves as an avenue to further bolster coop­eration and exchange among Southeast Asian nations, foster­ing discussions on collaboration and friendship.

 

Additionally, the 27th China (Kunming) Export/ Import Exhibition will be un­veiled during this comprehen­sive trade fair, solidifying ties between China and South Asian countries. — MNA/TS
