U Nyan Tun, chairman of the Myanmar Sports Media Federation, said at the executive meeting held at the office of the Myanmar Sports Media Federation yesterday that the award will be given to the best male and female athletes in 2022.
“The 2022 male and female sportsperson awards will be presented in October. In November, there will be a kick-off ceremony to pay tribute to veteran sports writers over the age of 70. In addition, the federation will meet and encourage the men’s and women’s soccer teams and the wushu and rowing athletes who are currently training for the Asian Games,” the chairman added.
For the year 2022, the winner of the best male and female athlete award will be given K1 million by the Myanmar Sports Media Federation and another K1 million by the Myanmar Olympic Committee totalling K2 million.
In addition, a courtesy payment of K300,000 for veteran sports writers over the age of 70, will be delivered to their homes, and for those who are far away, money will be transferred via Kpay or Wave Pay. — Bala Soe/KZL
