The width of eight-mile Shwethaungyan-Chaungtha road in Pathein District, Ayeyawady Region is being extended into 50 feet. 

The local people appealed for extending of the road which is too narrow for vehicles to go. Therefore, arrangements were made to extend the road by local entrepreneurs. 

The project is being undertaken by Shwe Hein Htet Company in Shwethaungyan, GERIZIM Hotel in Chaungtha and other hotels on Shwethaungyan-Chaungtha Road.
