A seawater prawn farming project jointly organized by Belu-Kyun Regional Development Farm and Malaysia based Silibu Company is a successful business at Tawpakauk village, Khaikhnee village-tract, Chaungzon Township, Mon State.
The huge demand of prawns is Yangon and Mawlamyine markets with the value of K 10,500 per viss. The seawater prawn production lasts for three months from shrimp to prawn with the technical assistances of agricultural experts from India.
A two-acre seas prawn lake could produce four to five tons of prawns. The six lakes of prawns and crabs were dug in 200 acres starting from March 2018. –Township (IPRD)
