Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies (MISIS) hosted an Expert Workshop on the theme of “Opportunities and Challenges for Russia’s Turn East Policy in Southeast Asia”, jointly organized by the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia (ICCA) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), at the meeting room of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies in Yangon, on 8 and 9 November 2023.
MISIS’s Senior Advisory Board members and Executive Board members, the senior researchers and research assistants, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, academicians from the Yangon University of Foreign Languages and the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia, and students of the Yangon University, Yangon University of Foreign Languages and East Yangon University discussed issues including the governance of the Armed Forces in Indochina, Western Economic Sanctions and ways for Economic Synergy between Southeast Asia and Russia, defence cooperation and academic perspectives on Myanmar and Russia relations. — MNA
