The closing ceremony of a basic training course on carpentry and masonry took place at the multi-purpose hall in Kontan Village, Manaung Township in Rakhine State this morning.

The training course was conducted by the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation with the aim of creating job opportunities for rural people. On the occasion, the deputy township administrator delivered an address and an official from the DRD explained matters relating to the course. Afterwards, a trainee spoke words of thanks.

Next, concerned officials presented awards and completion certificates to the trainees. The two-week course was attended by about 50 trainees throughout the township.—Thein Pe (IPRD)
