Speaking at the event, Un­ion Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn said that sci­ence and technology are grow­ing too fast, and the news spread swiftly without delays. Some on­line media outlets follow media ethics, but some intentionally spread false information to cause political disagreement and raise tension.

When journalists, media and online users from develop­ing countries, including Myan­mar, are weak in considering the danger of propaganda, the online media, Myanmar Digi­tal News, was launched on 11 January 2018 to provide the cit­izens and world countries with trustworthy information and the nation’s progress.

The Union minister also highlighted the online version of Myanmar Digital News (MDN), such as Digital Newspaper and News Portal, and expressed gratitude to Megalink Advanced Technologies Co Ltd for donat­ing technical equipment.

The Union minister pre­sented certificates of honour to Megalink Advanced Technol­ogies Co Ltd officials and con­cluded the ceremony. — MNA/ KTZH
