Kayin State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo, along with the departmental officials, provid­ed basic foodstuffs such as rice, cooking oil, and noodles to the internally displaced persons in Nabuhnitcha village in Kawka­reik Township on 27 December.

 

First, the Chief minister and party paid homage to Pre­siding Sayadaw Bhaddanta Indaka of Aung Theikdhi Mon­astery of Nabu village and Township Sangha Nayaka Com­mittee secretary (Shwekyin) Sayadaw Bhaddanta Sumana and donated offertories and cash to Sayadaws.

 

Speaking at the ceremony to provide basic foodstuffs to IDPs at religious hall of Aung Theikdhi Monastery, the Chief minister talked about the in­structions given to the relevant officials to arrange safe envi­ronment for the school-aged children among the IDPs to continue their learning, public participation in regional peace whereas those intentionally launch destructive actions will not enjoy the prosperity, efforts for the IDPs to be able return to their places and proper assis­tance to them while staying at the temporary shelters.

 

Then, the Chief minister and party presented 90 bags of rice (24-pyis each), 90 cartons of noodles, and 180 visses of cooking oil to 357 households sheltering in Nabuhnitcha vil­lage, and cordially met with the displaced persons.

 

They also visited the Nabu station hospital, comforted the patients, and provided nutri­tion.

They then provided the medical doctor, nurses, and health workers with the food­stuffs and K300,000 for over­head costs. — Saw Myo Min Thein (IPRD)/KTZH
