A concrete road was opened to mark 76th anniversary of Independence Day in Tinkyikyat Village in Kalaw Township of Southern Shan State on 2 December.

First, staff officer of the District Department of Rural Development U Sai Aung Zaw Lin delivered an opening speech. Afterwards, staff officer of the Township Department of Rural Development U Kyaw Swar discussed matters relating to the construction works of the road in the village.

Afterwards, officials from the District and the Township Departments of Rural Development, village Administrator and village elders cut a ceremonial ribbon to formally open the road.

The concrete road measuring 1000 ft. in length, 10 ft. in width and 6 inches in volume was constructed by the Township Department of Rural Development at a cost of more than K 18.5 million including K 15 million of DRD’s funds for 2023-2024 fiscal year and K 3.5 million contributed by well-wishers, according to an official from the Township Department of Rural Development.– Maung Khaing (District IPRD)
