Authorities seized K 1.7 billion worth of stimulant tablets in Kyaikto Township, Mon State, according to the Myanmar Police Force.

 

Acting on a tip-off, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Narcotic Drug Squad searched a LANDCRUISER PRADO car driven by Thura Win with his wife Ma Aye Thandar Aung and Ma Phu Phu on board near Mayanchaung Village in Kyaikto Township, Mon State on January 3 at about 10:00 am and seized K 1.7 billion worth of stimulant tablets in the car.

 

After making some interrogations, Ko Shay and Khin Zaw Myint who involved in drug trafficking were arrested in Shwepyiyeiktha Ward and Ayeyeiknyein Ward in the town of Kawthaung, Taninthayi Region on January 4.

 

After interrogating them, the combined team seized a TOYOTA FJ CRUISER car and a motorbike which are used for drugs trafficking, K 7.985 million, Thai baht 6000 and 39 kinds of jewelry worth K 9.34 million earned from selling or transporting drugs in the house of Thura Win and his wife Ma Aye Thandar Aung in Byawtawwa Ward in the Town of Dawei, Taninthayi Region.

 

According to the investigations, the seized drugs were intended to transport to Kawthaung, Taninthayi Region from the town of Bago. The offenders have been prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law and the Anti-Money Laundering Law of the country, and further investigation is underway.—MNA
