Nay Pyi Taw, 23 February
As part of the bilateral cooperation between Myanmar and Israel in the framework of various collaboration activities in different fields, a ceremony to open Demonstration and Research Plot established by Israel was held at Yezin Agricultural University, Nay Pyi Taw on 21 February.
The ceremony was attend by ambassador Mr Gilad Cohen, Israeli ambassador to Myanmar Mr Ronen Gilor, Director-General U Naing Kyi Win of Department of Agriculture Research, Rector of Yezin Agricultural University Dr Nang Hseng Hon, professors of the University, officials of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation-MOALI and others.
The Embassy of Israel in Yangon initiated the Demonstration and Research Plot at the YAU in August 2017 with the purpose of equipping students and faculty members with modern Israeli state of the art technology and best practices, mainly water management and drip irrigation.—MDN
