The first session of the 17th plenary meeting of the Eighth 47-member State Sangha Maha Nayaka Com­mittee was administrated at the Maha Pasana Cave on Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Hill in Yangon yesterday.

 

Present on the occasion were mem­bers of the State Sangha Maha Naya­ka Committee led by Presiding Naya­ka Sayadaw of Thanlyin Min Kyaung Pahtamapyan Monastery Aggamaha Pandita Aggamaha Saddhammajoti­kadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhi­vamsa, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin and relevant officials.

 

State Sangha Mahamayaka Com­mittee Chairman Aggamaha Pandita Aggamaha Saddhammajotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa presid­ed over the event, and Joint Secretary Sayadaw Aggamaha Ganthavacaka Pan­dita Aggamaha Saddhammajotikadhaja Paññadhaja acted as the master of cer­emonies.

 

Union Minister U Tin Oo Lwin re­ported on religious affairs-related mat­ters.

 

Then, Sayadaws reported on Vinic­chaya, religious affairs and educational matters. The Sayadaws discussed reli­gious and Vinicchaya affairs and con­cluded the first session.

 

The Vinicchaya affairs and reli­gious-related matters were discussed by Sayadaws in the second session at 1 pm.

 

Senior General Than Shwe (retired) Daw Kyaing Kyaing and other donors offered alms for the whole day to the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee member Sayadaws, who attended the ceremony yesterday. — MNA/KTZH
