Policemen from Myaing Township MPF and local authorities have been engaged in public awareness activities on traffic rules and regulations for the safety of motorists and motorbike drivers in the township.
The public awareness campaigns are followed by action taken against those who in breach of traffic rules on a weekly basis. With this, people in the region have now been well aware of the rules and are starting to follow it.
In Myaing township, there were 37 traffic accidents in 2018, leaving 18 dead and 70 others injured. In January in 2019, there were five traffic accidents, leaving three people dead and six others injured while the month of February saw two people dead and three injured in four traffic accidents.—Phyo Mon Mon Tun
