A total of 19 Basic Education Schools which were temporarily closed due to the floodwaters from the Irrawaddy River are reopened on August 6 in Pantanaw Township, Maubin District of Ayeyarwaddy Region as water level in the Irrawaddy River was receded, according to the Township Education officer’s office.

A total of 105 schools in Pantanaw Township were temporarily shut down as water level in the Irrawaddy River has risen due to continuous rain. Out of the closed schools, 19 schools have been reopened in the Township.—Pyae Phyo Kyaw(IPRD)
