The final day of Group I in the 2025 AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualification took place in Kyrgyzstan yesterday. The Myanmar team faced a disappointing end, losing all three group matches.
In their last match, Myanmar competed against Turkmenistan, losing by a score of 1-4. With no hopes of progressing in the tournament, the team failed to secure a positive result in their final match. Although Myanmar managed to score first, they were unable to maintain the lead, conceding multiple goals thereafter. The opening goal came in the 14th minute, scored by Saw Sekapaw Say. However, Turkmenistan quickly responded, finding the net in the 17th, 41st, 89th, and 90+1 minutes. Even after Turkmenistan had a player sent off just before halftime, Myanmar could not capitalize such a privilege, failing to score again and conceding additional goals in the second half.
Throughout the group stage, Myanmar suffered defeats, losing 2-0 to Kyrgyzstan, 6-0 to Japan, and 4-1 to Turkmenistan. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
