THE Sri Lankan national football team, which is now in Yangon, is taking training to play against the Myanmar national team in two friendly matches.
The Sri Lankan team is made up of 25 players, most of whom are star players, including adopted citizens. The guest team arrived in Yangon on 6 October, and they planned to play two friendlies with the Myanmar national team.
The Sri Lankan team deploys Europeans and Australians as adopted citizens in its line-up. The team has won over the Cambodian team in the play-off match for the 2027 Asian Cup qualifier third round held in September.
Myanmar and Sri Lankan national teams will meet in two friendlies at the Youth Training Centre in Thuwunna in Yangon at 4 pm on 10 and 13 October. — Ko Nyi Lay/TTA
