The final group stage of the 2024 ASEAN Women’s Futsal Championship took place on 20 November in the Philip­pines, with Myanmar securing a spot in the third-place playoff.

 

On the last day of the group stage, Thai­land defeated Vietnam 3-0, while Indonesia triumphed over host Philippines 2-1. Indo­nesia’s victory over the Philippines allowed Myanmar to advance to the third-place playoff. Although the Philippines also earned one point, they were eliminated due to a goal difference.

 

At the end of the group stage, Thai­land finished first with 12 points, Viet­nam secured second place with nine points, and Indonesia came third with 6 points. Myanmar placed fourth with one point, also earning the right to compete in the third-place playoff. The Philippines, despite earning one point, finished last due to their goal difference.

 

The tournament follows a round-robin for­mat, with the top two teams advancing to the final and the third and fourth-place teams playing for third. The third-place and final matches will continue on 21 November, with Myanmar facing Indonesia for third place, and Thailand playing Vietnam in the final. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
