Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Aung Thu received Mr. Faruque Ahmed, Executive Director of BRAD International from the Netherlands at his office at 2:00 pm today.

During the meeting, they discussed matters relating to close cooperation among the governments, the public and development partnership associations, future works on “comprehensive rural development programs”, sufficient use of inputs for breeding farmers under sustainable development program of aquatic creature breeding being implemented by GIZ, procedures on Myanmar development aid policy and signing of memorandum of understanding in line with policies laid down by the state.

It is learnt that BRAC Myanmar and Rural Development Department will jointly implement comprehensive rural development program covering development of livelihood for rural people, supply of healthy drinking water, improvement of hygiene and personal hygiene, improvement of the ability of the youths and development of the ability of people in rural areas in disaster risk management during the three-year period.—MNA
