THE launch of the MPTA FM Application to find out information on fuel filling stations in the country is good for drivers, according to some taxi drivers and car owners.

Under the guidance of the Central Committee on Ensuring Smooth Flow of Trade and Goods, a mobile application called MPTA FM was developed to allow people to find out available fuels, prices, and available quantities at the nearest petrol stations via their phones.

The application can be easily downloaded from the Google Play Store for Android phones starting 1 January 2025, and an IOS version is also under development for the App Store.

The MPTA FM application provides information on the location of fuel stations in the country, including opening and closing hours, and available fuel types and prices. It was jointly developed by the Fuel Import, Storage and Distribution Supervisory Committee and the Myanmar Petroleum Trade Association (MPTA).

“We welcome this development because we will have access to information. We can know the data. We don’t have to go to petrol stations like before,” said Ko Myint Naing, a taxi driver.

Ko Hla Myint, a car owner, said he had already downloaded the application from the Play Store and would always use it.

“I have tried it out for a while now. It is convenient. I will continue to use it,” he said. — Htet Oo Maung/ZN
