THE Department of Internal Revenue under the Ministry of Planning and Finance will sell K1,000 worth of Aungbarlay Lottery starting from April of the financial year 2025-2026.
Lottery agents are urged to follow the rules. Those agents must seek sales permits through the Aungbarlay office (Yangon branch), Mandalay branch and the relevant township IRD. They must sign a commitment letter stating that they would sell the lottery tickets as per the set prices, presenting a citizenship scrutiny card and household registration.
The old lottery agents also need to show a tax clearance certificate for the transactions made in the last FY 2024-2025 from the respective IRD. The applications must be submitted to the relevant offices between 14 and 28 January 2025.
The agents need to deposit K600 for a pack of 11 lottery tickets three months in advance and sell the packs of lottery tickets according to each quota for the entire year. The agents will get their permit revoked for any non-compliance. The State will seize the deposits. They need to make a deposit depending on the number of ticket packs by 4 March 2025. They will get cancelled from the dealers’ list upon failing to act the rules. — NN/KK
