THE Ministry of Information provided its quake-affected staff with cash assistance in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Speaking at the event, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn said the people and staff faced losses due to the earthquake. Although some departments experienced significant casualties and damage to buildings due to the earthquake, the department suffered minimal casualties as a positive outcome amid the worst, and all should stay strong. Currently, it needs to spread true information continuously to the people via the state-owned media or online as it is important to prevent false information circulation to the people and staff.

After the quake, some staff returned to their native while some served their duties as usual. Therefore, all the staff must perform their respective duties after the Thingyan holidays.

He then highlighted the role of staff and encouraged them to work together.

The Union minister and deputy minister presented cash to the staff of the affiliated departments.

At noon, Myanmar Edible Oil Dealers’ Association Chairman U San Lin donated 1,200 oil bottles to the staff of the ministry. The Union minister received them and expressed gratitude. — MNA/KTZH
