THE nine-day recitation event is being held at the Shwedagon Pagoda to protect from various dangers.
The recitation event is being held at the Chanthagyi prayer hall of Shwedagon Pagoda for nine days from 8 to 16 April by 18 monks taking turns reciting to protect from various dangers.
The opening ceremony was held on 8 April at the Ancient Buddha statues prayer hall at the southern stairways of Shwedagon Pagoda. The reciting event was attended by the Yangon Region Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Chairman along with Sanghas, members of the Yangon Region government, department officials, members of Pagoda Board of Trustees and members of religious organizations.
Similarly, the Paritta recitation will be held at the pagodas in Yangon Region to protect them from various dangers. — ASH/MKKS
