THE nine-day recitation event is being held at the Shwedagon Pagoda to protect from various dangers.

 

The recitation event is being held at the Chanthag­yi prayer hall of Shwedagon Pagoda for nine days from 8 to 16 April by 18 monks taking turns reciting to protect from various dangers.

 

The opening ceremony was held on 8 April at the An­cient Buddha statues prayer hall at the southern stairways of Shwedagon Pagoda. The reciting event was attended by the Yangon Region Sang­ha Maha Nayaka Committee Chairman along with Sanghas, members of the Yangon Re­gion government, department officials, members of Pagoda Board of Trustees and mem­bers of religious organizations.

 

Similarly, the Paritta recitation will be held at the pagodas in Yangon Region to protect them from various dan­gers. — ASH/MKKS
