MEMBER of the State Administration Coun­cil Deputy Prime Min­ister Union Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Electricity and Energy Development Commis­sion Chairman Admiral Tin Aung San yesterday inspected repair work of the office of State Admin­istration Council, and temporary settlement of staff and families from the Ministry of Electric Power, the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of the Prime Minister’s Office damaged by the recent earthquake.

 

Officials reported the dam­age to the buildings in the earth­quake and the ongoing process of repairing these buildings. The Admiral instructed officials to emphasize worksite safety in re­pairing operations and to repair the buildings under the SOP.

 

At Thabyay-1 hostels, Ad­miral Tin Aung San and Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun inspected repairs of buildings and accommodation for staff families. They also viewed the installation of a transformer to electrify the temporary camp for staff families at Danatheikdi sports ground in Zabuthiri Town­ship, the construction of the tem­porary camp by (uab) Foundation and the supply of food and water.

 

The Ministry of Electric Power has arranged electrifica­tion for nine temporary camps for staff families in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

 

A total of 560 electricians from Yangon, Bago and Mag­way regions have repaired power lines and power stations in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area. So far, 99.7 per cent of the electricity supply resumes in Nay Pyi Taw, 99.98 per cent in Mandalay and 97 per cent in Sagaing.

 

The Admiral and Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin viewed round the tempo­rary camp for staff families of the Ministry of Energy at Gems Emporium Hall in Dekkhinathiri Township and presented food­stuffs to staff families.

 

The Admiral also looked into accommodation for staff families of the Ministry of the Prime Min­ister’s Office in Dekkhinathiri Township, comforted them and presented relief supplies. — MNA/TTA
